The 46th Colours Awarding Ceremony of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura
The 46th Colours Awarding Ceremony of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura was successfully held on the 09th June of 2023. This glamourous night took place at the Golden Rose Banquet Hall, Boralesgamuwa.
This night was indeed a very important event for the sports stars of the university, as they were able to gain the Overall Women’s Championships, Overall Men’s Runner’s up and Overall Championship at the Inter University Championships 2022. 423 athletes under 36 teams from 21 sport activities were awarded in this Night. Representing all sport activities 36 students awarded as “Best Players” and 29 students awarded as “Special Awards”.
The Chief Guest for this night of glamour was Prof. Upul Subasinghe, Actg. Vice Chancellor of University of Sri Jayewardenepura. Guest of honor was the managing Director of the Finagal lanka (Pvt) Ltd Mr. Mahinda ranasinghe.
And as the special guests Mr. Sujeewa Rajapaksha (Chairman People’s Bank/Main Sponsor of the Colours Night) and Mr. Nilupul De Silva (CBL Marketing Manager) was participated to this event. And also, honorable Sports Advisory Board Co- Chairmen Senior prof Pradeep jayaweera and prof. K.L Wasantha perera was participated this event. And also, honorable alumnus; Mr. Kamal Gamini Silva (Managing Director of KND group and president sports alumina UJSP), Mr. Ranjith Iddamalgoda (National Organizer Alumina Association USJP was participated for this great night.
The most outstanding sportswoman of the year was presented to Hasara Wijerathne, a 4th year student from the faculty of Management studies and Commerce for her prowess in Badminton. She won the,
