SMASHES 2023

The “SMASHES 2023” Badminton Tournament organized by the Sri Jayawardenepura University Badminton Team was held from 31st May to 4th June at the indoor stadium premises of Mercantile Badminton Association with great success.

“SMASHES” Badminton tournament started in 2007 and continued till 2010. After 2010, it was held again in 2018. The tournament, which was held continuously in the years 2018 and 2020, was not held in the year 2021 and was restarted in the year 2022.

Competitions were held under the categories of under 9, under 11, under 13 and under 15 years of age and over a thousand contestants representing 50+ schools in all over the country participated.

Here, 8 winners were selected under the singles category and 12 winners were selected under the doubles category. In addition, 6 “Best Player” awards were also presented to selected players.

Smashes 2023 is successfully concluded with the appreciation of many parents, players, coaches and many others.
