Umayanga Mihiran Leads Sri Lankan Junior Boxing Team to Victory at 34th International Championship

Penang, Malaysia – In a thrilling showcase of skill and determination, the Under 20 Junior Boxing Team from Sri Lanka, led by Umayanga Mihiran, emerged triumphant at the 34th International Boxing Championship held from December 11th to 15th. This prestigious event brought together nearly 120 athletes from twelve countries worldwide.

Umayanga Mihiran, a first-year student at the Faculty of Technology, University of Sri Jayawardenepura, showcased exceptional leadership and talent. Competing in the challenging weight class of 51 kg, Umayanga secured the gold medal by defeating the most talented fighters from the participating nations.

As the national champion in the 51 kg weight class, Umayanga’s strategic prowess and determination shone on the boxing ring, earning praise and recognition for Sri Lanka.
